Edificio Lazcano, 8
Edificio Lazcano 8 dates back to 1966 and was built as part of the urban development that took place in the second half of the 20th century in Malaga.
History of the building: Built in 1904, this is the posthumous work of architect Pascual Herráiz y Silo, completed by his colleague Vicente García Cabrera. The construction is one of Madrid’s most original modernist buildings. The aesthetic is particularly eclectic, with medieval influences, unusual in Madrid buildings of the time. All this attains almost modernist levels of originality, associated with the most creative historicism. Visible in the ornamental treatment of the textured features used on the façade (corbels, lintels, finishers and friezes), as well as in the guardrails of the balconies and, especially, in the enclosed balconies. It was refurbished for the first time in 1990, in order to create a modern office building with parking, but always maintaining and respecting the original design of the building.
