El Ingenio Shopping Centre, owned by Sociedad Azucarera Larios Patrimonio, has closed the first nine months of 2026 (Q3) with outstanding growth in both turnover and visitor footfall. The centre’s revitalisation strategy, together with the arrival of new brands and the expansion of key retail units, has further consolidated its position as a leading shopping destination in southern Spain.
Growth in Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Tenant Sales: Total tenant turnover increased by 8.64% in the third quarter (Q3), bringing year-to-date (YTD) growth from January to September to 9.49% year-on-year.
- Visitor Footfall: Footfall increased by 8.39% in Q3, with a notable surge of 10.93% in August, bringing year-to-date growth to 6.39%.
- Quarterly Performance: The shopping centre maintains its upward momentum, following sales growth of 15.03% in Q1 and 5.83% in Q2.
Retail Offering Renewal and Strategic New Openings.
The strong commercial performance is driven by the arrival of key brands and the optimisation of its retail spaces:
- Mango Relocation and Expansion: The brand has relocated its store to a larger, more prominent retail space, introducing an updated store concept and, for the first time, its MAN menswear collection.
- Arrival of Mango Teen: Strengthens the youth fashion segment, attracting Gen Z shoppers and diversifying the retail offering.
- Arrival of Pepco: Introduces a strong offering across homeware, home décor and children’s fashion, further enhancing the shopping centre’s appeal to families.
- Opening of Last Price: Expands the retail offering in the fashion and off-price segment, encouraging repeat visits and increasing footfall.
Strengthening of Retail Sectors, Dining and Leisure
The positive performance reflects strong momentum across all retail categories within the shopping centre: Fashion and Accessories remains the main sales driver; Food Retail and Technology continue to strengthen their role as anchor tenants generating repeat footfall; while the Food & Beverage (F&B) and Leisure offerings have contributed to longer dwell times and an enhanced customer experience during the summer season.

With a 100% occupancy rate, El Ingenio enters the final quarter of the year (Q4) in a leading position, ahead of the key Black Friday and Christmas shopping campaigns.
