Representative themed Shopping Center

El Ingenio opened in the year 2000 and is named after the old sugar refinery, a once traditional crop in the area of Vélez-Málaga. The design and décor of the shopping centre are based, therefore, on this activity, including ornamental features that reproduce the machinery used in the old sugar mills. It was designed by the prestigious architectural studio Arquitectos Bernar-Sainz de Vicuña in Madrid.
